The first step to gaining an edge on good health is recognizing the risk factors and symptoms that could warrant the need for a vascular test.
Risk factors for vascular disease are:
- Smoking
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- Cardiovascular disease
- Family History of Arterial Disease
Symptoms of vascular disease can include but are not limited to:
- Upper or Lower Extremity Pain
- Swelling of Extremities
- Discoloration of Legs
- Non-healing Sores
- Varicose Veins
- Dizziness
- Sudden Onset of Slurred Speech or Blurry Vision
If you, or someone you know, is experiencing any of the above symptoms or have any of these risk factors, talk with your family physician about your risk for vascular disease. Vascular testing provides diagnostic information with minimal risks and very little discomfort to the patient. A doctor’s referral is needed for all testing and claims will be submitted to your insurance carrier.
Screenings
CorVasc Vascular Lab can also provide peace of mind to patients and their families by offering three vascular screening exams. The following screening exams are brief tests that will show if a patient has or is at risk for arterial disease.
- Carotid Artery Screening
- Ankle-Brachial Index for Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm Screening
Anyone can schedule a vascular screening – a referral is not required. All screening exams are paid for by the patient at the time of the appointment. The cost for all three screening is $100. Screenings are $40.00 if purchased separately.
